If you have a JPEG image from your graphic designer that refuses to display in Internet Explorer even after triple-checking the CSS and the markup, check if it’s formatted in CMYK instead of RGB. It’s a stupid little mistake, but it might take quite some time and a lot of cuss words before you figure out what’s wrong.

With Photoshop, select Image>Mode>RGB to fix this problem.

If that isn’t the problem, consider revisiting the code and make sure the image format used is supported by all browsers.

I admit it: I spend way too much time on the computer. I do a lot of great things with a computer, but I also kill a lot of time doing absolutely nothing but web browsing. It doesn’t have the impact it would have on some people’s life, but it’s still a lot of wasted time. Here is a few tricks to fight your computer addiction.

A little annoying feature of Opera Mobile for devices equiped with a G-Sensor is the automatic rotation. For those who love to lie and browse, here is a small fix from XDA-Developers that will disable that feature.

If you havn’t already seen it, the CRTC is about to allow the telecom companies to mess with net neutrality. I normally don’t use this website to convey such messages, but it is our internet freedom that is threatened by the same commission that keeps voting against the ones it is supposed to defend since its creation.

When I get bored and I have nothing but my PDA to entertain me, I go on Wikipedia and learn stuff. These trips last between 10 minutes and 3 hours, depending on how sleepy I am. I decided to track one of those “wikitrips”. It all started when I was looking for aerial reconnaissance photograph and I ended up learning about all kinds of stuff about the middle ages. What would I do without Wikipedia? (sleep, that’s the answer).
